Canadian Political Maps, History, and Modeling

Study voting patterns across Canadian communities and elections through my growing collection of interactive and static maps, charts, and graphs. (Soon!)

Who I Am

I’m Kyle Hutton, an avid hobbyist psephologist (studier of elections) and all-around political creature. I’ve been doing political mapping and data work for over a decade, primarily for my own interest, but also semi-professionally for my followers online and colleagues such as Polling Canada and 338Canada. My hobby work was successfully turned into a career for me in the non-profit sector, where I analyze polling data, demographics, and other datasets to help organizations better engage their members and communities.

Environmentalist

My politics is primarily focused on combatting the biggest threat to people and society – climate change. This concern has led to me to run multiple times for the Green Party in my hometown of Burlington, Ontario.

Data Hound

My passions revolve around finding, collecting, and interpreting data. From election results to census demos to pollution data, I’m always eager to find the patterns hidden beneath the noise and tease out the story being told.
